ELS has been one of the best experiencs of my life, teachers are always friendly with the students. Also, they try to help you out with your individual needs. Moreover, ELS is not just a school, it's a special experience about a great relationship between students and teachers. ELS helps me a lot since I have been in the US. The teachers know how to improve your English and they even do things with you together so you learn a lot about American culture and way of life. It's an experience that everybody should have.

When I was studying at ELS Thousand Oaks, I lived at the dorm. It is a little bit more expensive then homestay, but it has some great advantages. You can be at the school in two minutes. You can have your meals at the cafeteria, you only have to show them your student ID and you can get whatever you want, its all you can eat. The dorms are located in the middle of campus, so you can enjoy all the services like the main library, gym, and cafes within just minutes. The best part is that you can meet a new people who are a native speakers, and live with people from other countries. The dorm is a great option for all students.

I like living in Santa Cruz because of the great beaches and beach activities. My classmates and I can play beach volleyball after school or on weekends. Santa Cruz is also very close to the Gilroy shopping mall and I can go outlet shopping. The ELS Center in Santa Cruz is also in a great location and students can easily travel to Yosemite, LA, Monterey, and San Francisco on the weekends. Although Santa Cruz is not a big city, it is very comfortable because everything is nearby, such as the grocery stores, post office, library, and restaurants.

The people are very friendly and the weather is very good in Santa Cruz. The ocean is very beautiful, and gives me a happy feeling. I feel very relaxed in Santa Cruz, more than in China. I really enjoy my Structured Speaking Practice class. My teacher is very experienced and she is very kind. She gives us extra help after class. If you have a problem the teachers and staff are very helpful and correct your grammar. I hope to pass ELS level 109 and go to Cabrillo College. I will also prepare for the TOEFL iBT test while here.

The school is located on the main street, so it is convenient to do things like go shopping or have some tea. It also is not very big, but the relationship between the teachers and students are close and you can concentrate on preparing and learning English. I am already crazy about Santa Cruz! I like ELS Santa Cruz because of the friendly staff. I like the activities such as beach trips and bowling. My new teacher is also amazing. She can explain English grammar very well. I like the downtown area, Pacific Avenue. The American’s are very friendly. I love my home stay family. My host is friendly and I feel like I am living with my family in Saudi Arabia. She has a great home, makes delicious food, and her child is very nice. If you want to study at ELS you should come to Santa Cruz.

I think living in homestay is very good experience, because homestay means living in an America home and a chance to learn the America culture. For example, I leaned America table culture at dinner time. I have also been able to learn the America life. I live with a single retired woman she is very kind. She shares a lot of information with me; she introduced me to famous America stores, nice places to eat and local attractions. She encourages me to speak English all the time; this is the most important thing. She helps me with the correct pronunciation every time I make a mistake, and I get to practice listening at home because I am listening to a native speaker all of the time. I am very happy with my homestay mother.

The reason I chose ELS Thousand Oaks is because the city is a very safe city, and the weather is really good. Also Thousand Oaks is near Los Angeles, and is convenient for my life. ELS has helped me to enter graduate school. The teachers and administrators are very patient. They helped me with English, and any other problems I face. I have enjoyed the SSP class a lot, because I learned new vocabulary and grammar. My second favorite class was Reading and Writing, it helped me improve my reading speed and I also learned new words. Out of the classroom I enjoy playing basketball in the CLU gym. The gym is pretty new and perfect for all students! I have met new friends by playing basketball each day, and it keeps me healthy!

Hi, My name is Shigeyuki from Japan and I studied at ELS for 4 months. When I got to ELS for the first time, I was so worried about studying at a new place, but all of the teachers and other students were friendly, so I could adopt myself to school. All of the classes were helpful, fun and it was easy to improve. When I had some questions, the teachers were trying to help me as much as they could, so I could solve those questions. In addition, ELS has some activities and they are a good chance to become friendly with other students. The thing I can say is ELS is a great place to study English and have new friends. My name is Kawtar and I attended ELS for 2 months. The first day I went there, I found smiling faces and very caring people. At ELS I learned to share and accept differences. I learned to coexist with different people and different personalities and I thank ELS for that. They surrounded us with the care necessary to expand ourselves and learn not just English but how to be and mostly how to adjust to the American society and culture. One important thing about ELS is that I made such progress in English, that once I wanted to attend the College of Southern Nevada, I didn't need to take any English placement test. I graduated from ELS at Level 111. Thanks you ELS, because of you I had great memories I'll never forget, ones that will last a lifetime.

I love the life here in Ruston every day. I had a great time in ELS Ruston and I really appreciate daily life here and all of my teachers here. I had a fantastic time during that corn maze day.
